This issue was far more straight forward than the one that came before. Hellboy and Alice trek through the bizarre landscape to encounter a strange imp like creature who claims to be an Englishman.

Hellboy and Alice assume it’s a guide and follow him. It turns out he was a minion of a

foe that Hellboy vanquished years ago and it was all an elaborate trap for revenge. An army of imps attacks the duo and start swarming the duo.

Hellboy manages to stave off the attack, but Alice takes a poison dart to the hand and is dying. The army is content to let her die and ...

      • run off. Three women approach Hellboy and tell him that they can save him.

This issue was very dialogue driven and it worked pretty well. Alice and Hellboy have a good repertoire with each other and it allows readers to get a better grasp on Hellboy’s history. Unlike the other issue, where it was

presented in such a way that left you confused, this issue flows much better.

While it’s more new reader friendly than the last issue, I would still advise you to pick up the issues that came before if you are going to read this one as it will help you a lot in understanding what is going on.
