  • It’s really fast and convenient, but a big problem with the range is the taste
  • The actual liquid portion of the soup is not that great, but the chicken tastes good and the smooth pasta serves as an interesting pairing with the rough texture of the chicken
  • Another problem is the expense of each can

Campbell’s Soup at Hand is a somewhat new product from Campbell Soup. It’s a range of soups that come in microwaveable cans that are designed to be easy to drink from. You can place it in the microwave, and a minute and a half later, you have hot soup ready to drink. They changed the design of their other microwaveable can to a tall, curved cup with

a cap that allows you to easily sip from it. It’s really fast and convenient, but a big problem with the range is the taste.

Chicken with Mini Pasta is my favorite flavor so far. It’s chicken soup, with chunks of meat, some vegetables and little small pasta bits that look kind of like rice or barley. It tastes pretty good, and is the most similar out of all their products to the real soup. The actual liquid portion of the soup is not that great, but the chicken tastes good and the smooth pasta serves as an interesting pairing with the rough texture of the chicken. The vegetables are somewhat bland as most of their flavor had already gone into the liquid.

Another problem is the expense of each can. For the price one ...

can of this stuff, you can get a can of their Chunky soups, which are bigger, taste better and are much more filling. It’s almost as easy to prepare, because you can just get a bowl, open the can, empty the can in the bowl and microwave it. For just a little more convenience, you get a lot less soup. I usually find myself having to eat
something else along with the Soup at Hand, while one can of Chunky Soup is enough for an entire meal.

In conclusion, if you’re willing to cough up a little more money, you get a fast, hot drink that is better suited as a midday snack. It’s still cheaper than going to a café, and a lot faster, but you can get so much more for your money.
