  • Miller, a reserve cornerback, is obviously not Washington’s replacement at running back on offense (I believe they have a guy who can do that already)
  • In any case, it is a good move for the Jets because they get someone with experience in a part of the game that is overlooked a bit too often lately

I see the New York Jets are going to try to replace injured Leon Washington with a familiar face in Justin Miller. Miller, a reserve cornerback, is obviously not Washington’s replacement at running back on offense (I believe they have a guy who can do that already).

But, he does give them someone who

has been a capable return guy in the past; something that they also lost when Washington got hurt.

I don’t remember much about him playing, but I believe he averaged something like 30 yards per kick off return for the Jets the last time he played for them.

      I have a feeling he isn’t ...

      • as good as he was the last time but he should be able to have some impact.

Of course, there’s also the part about him not being able to make the Oakland Raiders roster after leaving the Jets.

But, given the fact the Raiders really haven’t done much over the years, I’m not willing

to judge a guy based on their evaluation of him since I don’t think they would know a good player if they had one on their roster.

In any case, it is a good move for the Jets because they get someone with experience in a part of the game that is overlooked a bit too often lately.
