  • It is very difficult to avoid getting windshield stone chips on vehicles in Alberta
  • I decided to try to get the chips repaired, and since I wasn’t sure where to go for this in Calgary, I drove into glass repair business that was close to my apartment to make an appointment
  • I was happy about that, but I needed to ask what it would cost
  • A glass technician came out to look at the chips to give an estimate, as he said that small chips are generally $19.95 to repair, but if there is more than one chip, the subsequent ones will cost between $10-15, depending on the size
  • Cal-Alta Auto Glass is incredibly convenient and inexpensive when it comes to chip repair

It is very difficult to avoid getting windshield stone chips on vehicles in Alberta; the roads have so much gravel on them from all of the snow removal trucks in the winter, so most vehicles always have one or two chips at all times. My vehicle had two small chips, but I was scared that they were going to get bigger and eventually cause the glass to shatter, which would mean the whole windshield would have to be replaced, which is much more costly. I decided to try to get the chips repaired, and since I wasn’t sure where to go for this in Calgary, I drove into glass repair business that

was close to my apartment to make an appointment.

Cal-Alta Auto Glass is near the main road of Macleod Trail in the southwest part of the city. I drove in on the way home from work one day, expecting to make an appointment for later in the week, and perhaps get an estimate. Surprisingly, after I parked and went inside to the main reception, I was told that I could get the work done right then and there. I was happy about that, but I needed to ask what it would cost. A glass technician came out to look at the chips to give an estimate, as he said that small chips ...

      • are generally $19.95 to repair, but if there is more than one chip, the subsequent ones will cost between $10-15, depending on the size. I was in shock-I was expecting to pay upwards of $100, given that replacement windshields often cost about $300. I was pleased, and he drove my Jeep into the back area, while I sat in the waiting room. I logged onto my computer, expecting a long wait. Within 15 minutes, my vehicle was ready. And the bill came to only $36, with taxes and everything. I was pretty much in shock with relief. When I got home, on close inspection, my husband noticed that if you look very
closely, you can see the repair job a bit, but it is not noticeable while driving, so that is the main thing for me. So, unless you are a complete perfectionist and require no trace of the repair job, I would highly recommend Cal-Alta Auto Glass.

Cal-Alta Auto Glass is incredibly convenient and inexpensive when it comes to chip repair. The ability to just drive in with no appointment and be out in less than 30 minutes makes the whole process painless and quick. They even have a mobile service, where they will pick up and deliver your vehicle, free of charge. The chip repair is not invisible, but it was fine for my needs.
