Star Wars games have been hit or miss. This game got a lot of hype, and luckily, lived up to it.

You play as an apprentice of Darth Vader. The backstory is explained in the first level, where you get to play as Vader himself.

He sends you on missions to take out jedi while making plans to seize control of the empire from the emperor. This is consistent with his goals in both the original trilogy as well

      as the prequels.

The story is pretty well developed and they did a good job with characterization. The voice acting is pretty above average for a video game.

There’s a leveling up system that allows you to unlock new attacks and combos. The joy you get just from force choking an enemy or flinging them into a wall is worth the cost of the game. The controls are solid, though I find that the camera insists on finding bad angles during ...

      • big fights so that you can’t see.

The boss fights are challenging without being overly frustrating. They are as boss battle should be and they make for some pretty epic lightsaber duels.

The major downside of the game is that it is extraordinarily glitchy. When my roommate played, it sent him to a completely different ending so it made no sense in context. There is one battle where you have to take down a star destroyer. It took

my roommate forever to beat that and many have said that it is one of the most frustrating aspects of the game.

Like with many RPG’s there are multiple endings that vary depending on your actions through the game. This adds quite a bit of replay value and it gives you a chance to experiment with different powers and combos depending on which powers you unlock.

The game is definitely worth checking out. It fits pretty well into Star Wars canon without creating any discrepancies.
