  • Unless you are seeking a digital Nikon camera that will provide the video component as well as extra storage for your prints, I believe the Nikon Camera D300S doesn’t provide too many other significant features over the Nikon Camera D300
  • However if these two features will make your photography experience more viable and practical then you will without question want to look further into the Nikon Camera D300S

How the Nikon Camera D300S stacks up against the D300 Nikon Camera

Nikon has recently made the announcement of the Nikon camera D300S to its camera line. The new camera replaces the Nikon camera D300.

The lack of comparison features between the two digital Nikon cameras: meaning the Nikon camera D300 and Nikon Camera D300S are quite minimal. The newer D300S Nikon camera is precisely the same as the older version D300 Nikon camera except for certain characteristics. The dissimilar elements are as follows:

      1. The Nikon Camera D300S is capable of shooting movies in high definition. This feature is provided at 720p resolution, 24 FPS and has stereo audio. The maximum length of the video for the

Nikon Camera D300S is approximately five minutes. You can capture more time at lower resolutions amounting to twenty minutes on your Nikon Camera D300S.

      2. The Nikon Camera D300S is slightly faster in speed than the former Nikon Camera D300. It basically shoots 7 FPS in Ch mode. The Nikon Camera D300 shoots in 6 FPS. If you employ an MB-D10 battery pack the Nikon Camera D300S will shoot eight FPS 3. There is a new release mode incorporated into the Nikon Camera D300S. This release mode within the Digital Nikon camera is marked as “Q” for quiet shutter-release and is an addition to the Nikon Camera D300S dial directly after Ch which stands for continuous high speed.

      • 4. There are two card slots located on the Nikon camera D300S; 5. And the active D-Lighting portion has now added Auto and Extra High. The Extra High feature is an unexpected extra of the Nikon Camera D300S.

Other than the exceptions if you put the Nikon Camera D300 side by side next to the Nikon Camera D300S you’d basically have the same model of camera. Both the Nikon Camera D300 and the Nikon Camera D300S both employ the same chassis and same full-featured functionality that the avid amateur photographer has come to expect from the Digital Nikon camera.

The Nikon Camera D300S has more weight to it than the Nikon Camera D300 however not much more.

        Unless you are seeking

a digital Nikon camera that will provide the video component as well as extra storage for your prints, I believe the Nikon Camera D300S doesn’t provide too many other significant features over the Nikon Camera D300. It you already have a Nikon Camera D300 you are probably better off in keeping it for the time being if you do not require Video and dual card storage. However if these two features will make your photography experience more viable and practical then you will without question want to look further into the Nikon Camera D300S. Both cameras: the Nikon Camera D300 and Nikon Camera D300S are nice cameras: however once again which you choose is dependent on your current photography requirements.
