  • Clean Magic Eraser Original, so I decided to give this product a try, and I certainly had a house full of white baseboards to try this item out on
  • I bought a two-pack, and I was glad I had a coupon, because at $10 for two erasers, that is priced far too high-even for a magic eraser
  • Yes, these erasers most definitely work to remove marks and scuffs

When I see advertising for products that use words like ‘scrub-free’ or ‘magic’ I always disregard the product-everyone knows nothing but good old fashioned scrubbing will work! I have used many cleaning products over the years and there are certainly different levels of cleaning ability in these products, but nothing is that easy as to work on its own with no help from you! I received a coupon in the mail for Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Original, so I decided to give this product a try, and I certainly had a house full of white baseboards to try this item out on. I bought

a two-pack, and I was glad I had a coupon, because at $10 for two erasers, that is priced far too high-even for a magic eraser.

I read the instructions, and I was a bit concerned with the chemicals as the instructions say that you should rinse any food surfaces after using this product, which makes me slightly worried. I decided to skip the kitchen when using this, but I had two floors of baseboards to try. You have to wet the eraser with water to activate the cleaning ingredients, and so I started on the baseboards and white faceplates all over my house. Yes,

      • these erasers most definitely work to remove marks and scuffs. It is not completely effortless, as you do need to use a bit of back and forth motion, but it doesn’t require heavy scrubbing. But to be honest, I get the same effect with Fantastic with bleach and a bit of scrubbing. The magic eraser is a bit easier and less messy than this, but it is an expensive alternative.

I did get great results with the magic eraser, and I used it on my white doors, my light fixtures, my plastic garbage cans, appliances, my shower doors, and our computers. However, although it says

it can be used in the kitchen on all the surfaces, as long as you rinse afterward, I am not very confident about the chemicals inside and I don’t want them near my food. Plus, having to rinse is a hassle.

So, in summery, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Original does clean well, with minimum scrubbing. However, it is expensive, even though it is re-usable, but I would not re-use it too much because even with rinsing, there is residue left. It is much more economical to just use a cleaner and good, old-fashioned hard work. I would also be cautious of using it around food.
