Another chapter in the storied Jets-Patriots rivalry was written last Sunday as the Jets, led by the New York’s USC rookie signal calley Mark Sanchez and defensive mastermind Rex Ryan at the head coaching position.

New England started the game off by raising havoc in the Jets backfield as the first Jets snap went over the head of Sanchez. Later that series, the Patriots came through by forcing the fumble on the shifty Leon Washington. The Jets first year head coach Rex

Ryan later called for a challenge, however the play stood in front of a stadium of boos.

I think the Jets were able to get to Brady by applying a relentless pressure with their talented defense and blitz. This type of play from the Jets forced Tom Brady to rush passes that led to incompletions and interceptions. Darrelle Revis did a excellent job at containing Randy Moss, limiting him to only 4 catches for 24 yards. However, at half-time, New England was ...

      • still up 9-3.

The second half was when things started to get interesting. The 3rd quarter started off as Sanchez gunned it reliable Jerricho Cotchery who worked worked his stuff and made the 43 yard play. Sanchez later hooked up with 2nd year tight end Dustin Keller in the back of the end zone giving the Jets a 1 point lead. The Jets, weren’t finished, they later got the red zone, but failed to get it in the end zone, they settled

for a field goals, extending their lead to 7 points.

New England however, refused to go down. They came up applying pressure to Sanchez forcing them to punt. The Patriots get the ball back, hoping for Tom Brady to lead yet another cluth comeback. The Jets saw victory coming as they broke up a prayer pass to Joey Galloway on 4th down.

They Jets went on to win at home versus the Patriots at home for the first time since 2000, producing a memorable game.
