      • weekly newspaper and a market at the paved pedestrain mall every Saturday morning. Adult entertainment is a few sex workers standing around the pedestrian mall keeping out of the way of the drug dealers and a coin operated peep show conveniently located next to a bus stop. Brisbane’s homeless problems is abundantly clear in the Valley, and you cannot move ten meters without seeing and/or being accosted by street people. The area is well known for crime but has little to no police precense.

Overall I would recommend saving the money on staying in Brisbane to spend at one of the much more lively and pleasant locations on the nearby Gold Coast.
