South shore of Lake Ontario and mouth of Niagara River
  • This is also one of the best places to buy fresh fruit jellies like strawberry, or even maple and honey syrups
  • It would have been a far cry from the peace and tranquility that we experience going to this spot in this day and age

Niagara-on-the-Lake is considered the loveliest town Ontario, one of Canada’s major provinces. Situated near Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake is home to sprawling mansions, wineries, and buildings that date back to the colonial period.

Often referred to as wine country, this town is home to the ice wine, a very sweet specialty wine that is produced from grapes, which have been frozen while still in the vine.

There is also a variety of scenic golf courses, as well as parks situated along the lake. My favorite spot is from

where you can see the old fort, which was a site of major battles between the American revolutionaries on one hand, and the British and Canadian forces on the other hand.

If you plan on visiting Niagara Falls anytime soon, you should not miss the opportunity to pass by Niagara-on-the-Lake on your way home. It’s a nice place to drop by and just ogle at the houses or do some shopping in the town center.

This is also one of the best places to buy fresh fruit ...

      • jellies like strawberry, or even maple and honey syrups. If you are a flower lover by nature, just driving through the neighborhood is enough to enthrall you with the wide variety of flowering plants.

For me and my family, visiting this town was a regular fare whenever we passed by the falls. We would often converge at the lake area, sit on one of the park benches, and just enjoy the day basking in the sun. As for me, I often imagined how it would

have been like had I been around on those days when the American forces were laying siege on the nearby fort. It would have been a far cry from the peace and tranquility that we experience going to this spot in this day and age.

And don’t forget to try out wine tasting after you smell the roses. It’s an experience that you’ll never forget, you could be looking at the world through rose-tinted glasses.
