Beast Wars - Call of the Wild is an episode that I found a little on the boring side even though the basic concept is an interesting one: what would happen if the Maximals were forced to stay in beast mode for an extended period of time? Apparently, according to this episode, the beast forms begins to

take over, which means Optimus begins to act like an ape, Dinobot a velociraptor and so on. This stuck me as odd though since even though the Transformers have taken on the forms of native animals and creatures, they are still robots! They have no biological or primal instincts.

Thus, the Maximals should not have reverted to ...

      • actual animals or dinosaurs, losing all ability to speak and high-intelligence capabilities.

Plus, the Predicons really squander what is an excellent opportunity to win the Beast Wars.

It would have been so easy to scrap all the Maximals, yet Megatron is instead being carried through the jungle on a makeshift thrown like he is on some sort

        of casual safari.

Like hello, this is a war! The way in which the whole episode is handled does not settle well with me and it is one of the very few episodes that I tend to avoid when I watch the show.

The show is capable of so much better storytelling.

What a waste this episode was.
