Beast Wars - The Trigger, Part 2 continues where the first part left off, and in this episode, despite the best efforts of Airazor and Tigertron, it is Blackarachnia that reaches the structure on the floating island first and begins to explore it. She begins to realize the potential for incredible power that it represents, and with no reservations, seizes that potential for power for herself.

She quickly becomes mesmerized by what she

now has before her, leaving it up to Tigertron and Airazor to put an end to her obsession before she has a chance to turn the magnificent power of the structure on the Maximals.

Unlike the first part, this episode has a faster pace to it, and also, a little less substance.

The viewers do not even get much a chance to learn anything about why the structure was built or for what ...

      • purpose the floating island exists for.

Rather instead, more time is spent on emphasizing the power of the structure and Blackarachnia’s plans to betray Megatron and become supreme leader herself.

I felt that more could have been done with the material, but what we ultimately ended up with still manages to entertain.

The way in which the floating island is brought down is clever and the CGI animation in this episode is quite

        good.

In terms of camera angles, models and acting, this episode is very strong.

It is just unfortunate that there is not more substance to the script and that the writers did not fully tap into the potential that was there.

In fact, after this two part story, the viewer really does not learn much more about the aliens or why the floating island even existed.

This definitely hampers my level of enjoyment of the episode.
