  • The second half of the premier, I think, is more interesting and enjoyable than the first half because it is in the second half that the very conflict-heavy relationship between Dinobot and Rattrap begin and Dinobot and Optimus engage in a very intense and well executed battle
  • Unfortunately, while the build-up to the battle is exciting, especially with the two factions facing each other and then charging towards each other before colliding, the actual battle is not that long and the action mainly focuses on Optimus and Megatron

The Beast Wars - Part Two is the second half of the series premier. The second half of the premier, I think, is more interesting and enjoyable than the first half because it is in the second half that the very conflict-heavy relationship between Dinobot and Rattrap begin and Dinobot and Optimus engage in a very intense and well executed battle.

This one on one battle is the highlight of the episode and the series premier in general and is

probably one of the show’s best one on one fights.

Both Optimus and Dinobot are shown to be excellent and skilled warriors and the CGI animators do a terrific job of animating the fight.

As for the Rattrap and Dinobot conflict, in this episode, the two characters have nothing but disdain for each other, but it is quite interesting to see how their relationship started and how it progressed over the course of the seasons.

This episode also features one ...

      • of the few beast on beast battles due to the immense amount of energon.

Unfortunately, while the build-up to the battle is exciting, especially with the two factions facing each other and then charging towards each other before colliding, the actual battle is not that long and the action mainly focuses on Optimus and Megatron.

Still, it is enjoyable to watch the Maximals and Predicons do battle in their beast forms and see how they make use of the forms

that they now have since crash landing on the planet.

More focus is placed on the Maximals in this episode than the Predicons, although the viewer still gets a chance to see the differing command and leadership styles of Optimus and Megatron and thus Maximal and Predicon be fleshed out some more.

While the climax of part two of the series premier could have been more exciting and intense, I am still satisfied with the concluding part to the series opener.
