Funny People stars Seth Rogen as Ira Wright, a young man struggling to make it as a comedian, and Adam Sandler, as George Simmons, a stand-up comedian turned movie star, who finds out that he has a presumed terminal illness. George takes Ira under his wing and allows him to write jokes for him.

The two become quite close and they travel

      and do many things together.

Ira is there when George is at his worst, dealing with his illness and the thought of where his life has gone from when he was in Ira’s position of an up and coming comedian.

Even though George befriends Ira there is still a sense of status between the two.

When George becomes frustrated he blames Ira ...

      • and treats him like an employee instead of a friend who has been there for him since he was first asked.

Ira takes this opportunity, to write jokes for George, by the horns in hopes of matching his two roommates success on a tween sitcom.

The movie not only focuses on the story of George and Ira but also shows some great

stand-up comedy routines by a few of the cast members, including Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill.

The movie is very well written and has tons of laughs with a story fit in between.

Everything runs smoothly and doesn’t seem forced.

The only downside of the movie is its length at two and a half hours, but I think it was well worth it.
