  • My experience with the bike started in the end of 2008
  • Sometimes I think that the bike have two faces - a very calm bike till 7000 rpm, and a blast in the power after 8000 rpm, after which the bike shows all of his muscles and you can't recognize the calm 400 ccm that you just ridden
  • The Kawasaki Zxr 400 is very good for the city or even having fun on the track, but it's not the best choice for touring
  • There is a problem finding spare parts, after all it's a nearly 20 year-old bike, but there are a few online shops that offer a variety of parts even for that model

The Kawasaki ZXR 400 L ( 1991-1993) is a 398 ccm sport bike with 65 HP. The bike is light ( around 170 kg dry ) and is a good starting bike.

The ZXR 400 is calm and it can forgive some of the mistakes young riders do.

It’s a good choice for those who want something more then 400 ccm, but not so aggressive like 600ccm.

      end of 2008.

Although it was my first motorcycle I find it very easy to handle.

Sometimes I think that the bike have two faces - a very calm bike till 7000 rpm, and a blast in the power after 8000 rpm, after which the bike shows all of his muscles and you can’t recognize the calm 400 ccm that you just ridden.

Cornering with it can be a real fun, if you find a good place ...

      • to do so.

Suspension is good for the time it was build ( 1991-1993 ), but comparing to newer models it’s something that you can’t be satisfied with.

The 65 horsepower of the engine offers a good, fast and fun ride, but when you have a passenger the bike becomes lazy, slower and harder to accelerate.

The Kawasaki Zxr 400 is very good for the city or even having fun on the track, but it’s

not the best choice for touring.

The sport position gives a little more weight to the hands and after 30-40 km you feel tension in the wrists and the neck.

The bike is simply not powerful enough to satisfy the need for a long trip.

There is a problem finding spare parts, after all it’s a nearly 20 year-old bike, but there are a few online shops that offer a variety of parts even for that model.
