      Oh, this dessert is heavenly! Definitely one of the most addicting sweets there is. If they serve milk flans on parties, I could eat desserts whole night and couldn’t care less for the main dish. This could easily be kids’ favourite too. And why not? Even the look of the milk flan itself would literally make your mouth water! This ruins my diet big time! But it’s the only dessert that’s worth ruining my diet for.

      houses, you name it! But why do you really have to pay so much for a little piece of this mouth-watering treat when you can actually spend the same amount and make three times as much.

      That’s true, just because it tastes that great doesn’t mean it would take that so to make it. You only need the following: 2 cups of evaporated milk, 8 egg yolks, a teaspoon of lemon rind or vanilla, and a cup of sugar!

      • hot water for the caramel syrup to line our moulds with. To make the caramelized sugar is easy. You just have to melt the sugar in heavy metal container. As soon as the sugar is golden brown, add half a cup of water to dissolve them and form into syrup. Pour them over the moulds, just about a thin lining to cover the bottom. The nice thing about this is that you can put the rest of your syrup in a covered bottle and store them for future use.

        Now to make the flan

        itself: You first have to scald the milk in a double-boiler for 15 minutes. Beat the egg yolks while you’re on it, then add the sugar, milk and vanilla to it. Pour everything into the mould, then steam for about an hour or until the mixture becomes firm. That’s it!

        Allow the flans to cool before removing them from the moulds, or place them altogether in the fridge, and only remove them before serving, while they are very chilled! It’s really that simple to make this heavenly dessert. Now it’s your turn to try it.
