  • There are other alternatives like KL Express (Train) from KL Central Station, but with all the carrying of the luggage from the hotel to KL Central by taxi and the train tickets would have cost us more

We have traveled to Kula Lumpur International Airport recently on our way back to Chennai from Kuala Lumpur. We had to take Malaysian Airlines. There was a free packaging system available in the Airport where you can get your suit cases wrapped to ensure safety and security. There was self check-in system available at the airport where we can obtain the boarding cards by feeding the necessary information onto the computers placed in

the Terminal. As we were fiddling with the computer and finding it difficult to start off the process, one friendly staff member of Malaysian Airlines came and helped us in feeding the necessary information and getting the boarding cards. The beauty of the system is that you can get your passports verified, select your seat numbers and check in your luggage separately at the counter where the queue will be less than that ...

      • at other regular check-in counters.

Once we were inside the customs area, we were pleasantly surprised to find a train there which all the passengers had to board to reach the boarding area. Later on we discovered that the boarding area is situated in an entirely different building about a kilo metre away. Most of the duty free shops were also situated in that building.

We found the KL Airport very modern, efficient and

elegant. Only drawback is its distance from the city. It nearly took an hour to reach the Airport by taxi from our Hotel in the Bukit Bintang area. The Taxi charged us 90 ringetts for this ride. There are other alternatives like KL Express (Train) from KL Central Station, but with all the carrying of the luggage from the hotel to KL Central by taxi and the train tickets would have cost us more.
