My husband has a Ford Explorer that I love. I drive a Ford Freestyle, but when I need a lot more space, I take his Ford Explorer. My car is what they call a crossover, meaning it’s a cross between a car and an SUV. The Ford Explorer, is bigger that my car, and I like the way I can sit higher up. The Ford Explorer is a very reliable truck and handles especially well for me in the ice and snow. I have very big

dogs, A St. Bernard and a Newfoundland and although they fit in my car, I like to take them out in the Ford Explorer because it’s much more roomier and it seems like the there is more head room which is good for my dogs. My car gets better gas mileage than the Ford Explorer, but I think the Explorer is more durable and it is so roomy that I always have tons of room when go shopping, or even when transporting bikes in the back after I’ve put the seats down. The Ford Explorer is a very nice looking truck/SUV too. It seems like every time we have a snow storm, my car gets stuck in the snow somewhere. It never fails. I got stuck in the snow in the parking lot at my job, and in the shopping mall parking lot and the grocery store. But when I take the Ford Explorer out in the snow, I can drive right through the snow with ease and I have never gotten stuck.

I don’t know if it’s because it’s a heavier truck or what, but it handles extremely well in the ice and snow.

Even though my car is what you would call an AWD or All Wheel Drive, and it’s suppose to be good in the snow, and it is, but I guess I find all the spots that haven’t been plowed yet to drive through, but the Ford Explorer seems to handle even better than my AWD in the snow and ice. I always feel safer in it as it

seems sturdier and able to handle the rough winters better.

The Ford Explorer is five years old already and it has not had any major problems except that it needed a new back tire. I also have to say that this truck has an excellent stereo system in it. The speakers are very clear and because the truck is so roomy, the sound is even better, to me. I feel that the Ford Explorer is a very dependable truck and is a very good truck to drive in the snowy and icy winters.
