  • The problem with this idea is it is assuming that something is finitely good, that it can't be tuned or finely tweaked
  • With rosemary oil and yukon potato it's an amazing twist, proof that even hundreds of years after its inception Pizza is far from repeating itself
  • The Ibis, with pancetta, bay shrimp, rapini pesto, red peppers, and mozzarella and parmesan, is also a great pizza-very unexpected and delicious

There’s a long running myth in the food world that California doesn’t know how to make Pizza, that pizza in California is not only terrible but actually offensive. This myth is the product not of truth, but of fear.

As far as food goes, California is at the head of the pack, so naturally there is a sentiment created on the east

coast that California could never make east coast specialties as good as east coasters could.

The problem with this idea is it is assuming that something is finitely good, that it can’t be tuned or finely tweaked.

This is where Pizzeria Picco comes in.

Pizzeria Picco is proof that something can be finely tweaked, that it can be manipulated and improved ...

      • in new ways, even years and years after its inception.

The case in point here i would say is the Marin Pizza.

With rosemary oil and yukon potato it’s an amazing twist, proof that even hundreds of years after its inception Pizza is far from repeating itself.

Equally impressive is the Della Santa, a tasty Broccoli based pizza with hot peppers

        and garlic.

The Ibis, with pancetta, bay shrimp, rapini pesto, red peppers, and mozzarella and parmesan, is also a great pizza-very unexpected and delicious.

Mixed with fresh soft serve ice cream and a wine list that made me (an avid wine drinker) completely overtaken, Pizzeria Picco is really great.

it has a great neighborhood feel and food that is equally as comforting and alive.
