Sam Houston State University located in Huntsville TX is an institution of higher learning falling under the umbrella of the Texas State university system. With roughly 13,000 undergraduate and 2500 graduate students, SHSU is a good school for those wanting a more intimate class size (on average 30-40).

Tuition is relatively cheap for a 4

      year institution.

There is plenty of on campus living available on a first come first served basis.

The only drawbacks are the financial aid department.

They are very VERY slow so start on your financial aid early to avoid last minute glitches.

Another drawback seems to be that sometimes it seems the university ...

      • is only in it to make a buck and not give out top quality education.

By that I mean they charge fees for every single thing from parking, to library usage fees and even an international student fee that we pay to have foreign students study here.

Now bear in mind it is run by

the state of Texas so you wouldn’t get the quality of education that you might at a private university.

All in all if fees and the occasional bad professor doesn’t bother you then I reccomend Sam Houston State University in Huntsville Texas for all your higher education needs.
