David Copperfield is a wonderful book written by the talented English writer Charles Dickens. Although this writer has died long ago, his books and novels still live within us because of their fantastic concept and beautiful breathtaking events. And David Copperfield is certainly not an exception.

      The story follows our

little own David, a boy who was born 6 months after his father died. He lived two years happily with his kind sweet mother before she married Mr. Murdstone, a cruel man and lived with him and his sister. David begins to feel the ups and downs of life, having adventures and falling in love.

The story is presented in the first person, I, which helps a lot in getting to the heart of the reader and making him or her feel what our hero really felt. Dickens seriously knew how to do that.

pros, it also has it’s cons. The ending, from a personal view and without any spoilers, was rather disappointing because it showed that David might not really be the hero he seems to be. It felt like he…betrayed in some sort. If you read the book, you’d know what
I am talking about. I could tell but then you wouldn’t be really excited to read the book. ;)

But overall, I liked it very much. I felt the atmosphere it was giving and there were deep characters, which really helped in the story. You seriously should give this a try.

Michelle says :

David Copperfield is the narrator and main protagonist in this novel. He’s very persevering with an undisciplined heart and goes through many trials.

Betsey Trotwood is David’s eccentric great-aunt. She becomes his guardian later in the novel.

There are way too many characters to list here. So, I would recommend checking this Wiki link:
