Heartgard Plus is the brand name of an antiparasitic/antihelmintic drug for dogs. Its generic name is Ivermectin + Pyrantel. Heartgard is manufactured by Merck Sharp & Dohme in Barcelona, Puerto Rico.

We regularly purchase a 227 mg box of Heartgard Plus for dogs 51-100 pounds for P 1,050.00 each from Dog City Kennel Supplies and Accessories located at 1765 Nicanor Garcia Street, Barangay

Valenzuela, Makati City. This box contains six pieces of “chewables” inside.

Our veterinarian recommended that we administer Heartgard on a monthly basis to prevent heartworm disease, and to treat and control ascarid and hookworm infection in dogs. Our dogs need this kind of maintenance drug because (1) they walk and play outdoors, around the garden, and in the garage area; and (2) they can get infected by any of the sick dogs that pass by our property frontage.

Once, we noticed that our dog’s feces were slimy and discolored. After the regular dose of Heartgard was given to our dog, the dog’s feces appeared normal again the following day. The dog became much livelier too perhaps because he felt better after taking Heartgard.

very convenient to use primarily because dog’s love it. You don’t have to struggle or grapple with the dog anymore to administer the dosage needed. What you need to watch out for, though, is one dog trying to steal another dog’s dose of Heartgard!

The blister packaging, of course, allows you to store several month’s worth of Heartgard supply so you don’t

have to be inconvenienced by going to the pet shop every now and then. You need not worry either about medication spoilage because of their excellent packaging.

With the help of Heartgard, regular vaccination shots administered by the veterinarian, proper diet and exercise, our dogs have remained very healthy these last few years. This has helped us tremendously save on possible hospital confinement costs.
