  • This pie crust was easy to make and it was relatively inexpensive at the grocery store, but considering my dissatisfaction with the product, I most definitely will not be buying it again

Krusteaz Pie Crust Mix is not a pie mix that I will be purchasing a second time. I wish that I had not purchased it the first time really because it ended up detracting from the pie that I made.

What exactly is so bad about this pie crust? Well for one, according to the box, this is

      a flaky pie crust.

Well, it most certainly is! It is not only overly flaky, but it crumbles and falls apart way too easily.

      It is quite brittle.

Rather than being able to enjoy the pie crust, I had the opportunity to enjoy broken and small pieces that amount to crumbs at times.

The pie crust would just ...

      • break, break and break some more.

Not only that, but the crust did not have any flavor at all to it.

It was like I was just eating nothing - albeit slightly crunchy at times nothing.

The pie crust did not in any way contribute or enhance the pie and that was a shame because a good crust

can make a pie even better.

However, the opposite is also true: a poor crust can bring down an otherwise good pie.

This pie crust was easy to make and it was relatively inexpensive at the grocery store, but considering my dissatisfaction with the product, I most definitely will not be buying it again.

I obviously do not recommend it either.

    I love this product.

It is ALWAYS flaky. I have used milk, buttermilk. yogurt. apple juice. apple cider, chicken bouillon instead of the water the directions call for, I have added herbs spices to the crust mix, cheddar cheese, parmesan, gouda and have ALWAYS had good results.

I have made sweet pies and savory pies and have never had a problem. I like that you don’t have to roll it out, you can pat/press it into your pie pan and it’s still flaky.

I have used it in hors d’oeuvres and cookies and find it a very versatile, quality product.

I think of it the way one can think of Bisquick it’s a handy shortcut to have on hand.

    I love it.

Was not cut/finished well. Rolled out after a grand struggle, like a brick. Visible clumps of calculated`white oil’ wasted my Cornish game hen pot pie. I am very dissatisfied with your product.first and last time I will use it.betty Crocker pie mix has never let me down. Shame
