My wife and I watched a season one episode of Law & Order Criminal Intent last night; Enemy Within, that turned out to be a decent episode. This is, of course, one of the first episodes of the series and involves Goren and Eames having to investigate an arson at a high rise building

that ends up killing an elderly millionaire and a maid.

We later learn the son hired the arsonist in an effort to collect insurance money or something but didn’t want his father to die and had instructed his nurse to get the old man out.

However, his mom apparently knew about the fire and ...

      • changed the code on the elevator.

That, along with the old man’s refusal to leave the bathroom because he was having psychological problems, caused his death.

The revelation the nurse wasn’t completely innocent in all of this was a bit of a surprise; along with the fact he slept with the son in an

effort to frame him and the man’s wife of infidelity.

All of this so he could get his kids in some fancy school (which I think his own wife was pushing a bit too much).

It was definitely an interesting episode that was worth watching.

It shows why this series has been on the air as long as it has.
