  • I Love You Man is about a man who’s about to get married but finds he doesn’t have anyone to be his best man or part of his wedding party
  • I never caught it in theaters because although I thought it would be a funny movie I didn’t think it was worth spending $10 on, so I waited for it to come out on DVD
  • This movie definitely made me laugh out loud a couple of times and I can find myself relating to Peter, I’m sort of a female version of him except that I do have a best friend and a few other friends, but I don’t established friendships easily
  • I like I Love You Man because it’s not only funny but it has a real story underneath all those jokes and sexual innuendos
  • I’d recommend it for a good laugh or when you’re bored

I Love You Man is about a man who’s about to get married but finds he doesn’t have anyone to be his best man or part of his wedding party. He’s been a girlfriend kind of a guy his whole life and never really established any male friendships along the way. His mom, brother and fiance are sets him up with man-dates to try and help him find a friend. While he’s doing that on the side he’s a realtor and while on the job he comes across a man that comes to one of his open houses to pick up divorcees and the two end up hitting it off. Just when Peter, the realtor and friendless guy, thought

he’s found his best friend in Sydney Fife, things start go sour when Peter’s finance feels left out and as if Sydney is a bad influence on him.

I never caught it in theaters because although I thought it would be a funny movie I didn’t think it was worth spending $10 on, so I waited for it to come out on DVD. I Love You Man is a great comedy, but not something you’d want to see as a family because of the adult contents and language. This movie definitely made me laugh out loud a couple of times and I can find myself relating to Peter, I’m sort of a female version of him except that I do ...

      • have a best friend and a few other friends, but I don’t established friendships easily. I like I Love You Man because it’s not only funny but it has a real story underneath all those jokes and sexual innuendos. I thought the casting and chemistry between the actors were perfect. I don’t think the movie would have been as funny if the Peter’s finance was played by a more girly girl. Paul Rudd played Peter perfectly. He played awkward, un-cool and self conscious very well.

Jason Segel plays Sydney Fife, Peter’s soon to be BFF. I really liked Jason Segel in this, he’s very laid back and kooky and Segel was perfect for the role. I just couldn’t imagine

anyone pulling off this roll without coming off as being a total loser without a job.

My only complaint about I Love You Man is that it wasn’t quite as funny as I thought it would be. Somehow I thought it would be more slapstick but I was surprised that there was an actual story in this movie. It wasn’t as funny as I had initially assumed but it was still funny enough. Although I don’t quite understand the purpose of Adam Samberg’s character, Robbie, Peter’s younger gay brother. He really served no purpose to the movie. He was just there.

I Love You Man is a pretty good movie. I’d recommend it for a good laugh or when you’re bored.
