Alias Smith and Jones: A Fistful of Diamonds is a fun little outing for this western series starring Pete Duel as Hannibal Heyes and Ben Murphy as Kid Curry. This one has the two outlaws who are trying to go straight so that they can earn an amnesty having to set up

a banker who has accused Heyes and Curry of robbing his bank. Worse, a murder was committed in the process.

Once again calling on their friend, Soapy Saunders (Sam Jaffe), to assist them in their endeavor, Heyes and Curry set their plan into motion, showing up in the town and claiming to have ...

      • discovered a diamond field, something that is rare for that part of the country.

It’s a beautiful setup and at the heart of it are banker August Binford and the young and beautiful Betsy Jamison, who sees her ‘Augie’ as her financial future. Both roles are played wonderfully by John McGiver and Michele

Carey, respectively. Watching Carey as the coy siren of the piece is a hoot, especially when she gets so confused she really doesn’t know who or what to believe.

A Fistful of Diamonds is a nice episode to watch. It lets us see the genius of our two heroes. It’s witty fun.
