Buying a product that lasts for years is very unusual, especially if it is a product that you use every day. I bought Black and Decker Smart Grind coffee bean grinder about five years ago, not expecting to get more than a couple of years out of it, because it was only $19.99, which was much less expensive than many of the other grinders available. Surprisingly, this grinder has lasted 5 years, 4 moves, about 8 vacations and being occasionally dropped, and it

keeps on working. I also accidently soaked it, electrical chord and all, in a sink full of hot water, and nothing bad happened. As well as being extremely durable and having been inexpensive, it is also completely simple to use, (I call it dummy-proof), and the beans are also ground quickly and evenly.

The Smart Grind is not even a bit fancy in appearance; it is white with a grey base, a clear top/cover, and a grey grinding button. The operation of it is ...

      • also very simple, and again, dummy-proof; you simply fill the top with the coffee beans, replace the cover, and push the grey grinding button down until the beans are ground. Although there is only one grinding speed, you are able to control how fine you grind the beans by how long you hold down the button. I usually grind my beans very fine, so I push the button down for about 20 seconds. You can actually see through the clear cover, so you
can stop when the grinding is how you want it. The grinder is also simple to clean-you can wipe it all down with a damp cloth, and the cover can be washed in the dishwasher as well. It might not be a great idea to soak the entire grinder in the sink, like I did, but it comes clean easily and quickly.

My Black and Decker Smart Grind coffee bean grinder is easy to use and clean, is extremely durable and was extremely inexpensive.
