  • I feel that this book definitely did deliver on some incredible artwork renderings, but I also feel that this book missed out on delivering what could have been a gorgeous visual guide to the ships that have appeared throughout Star Trek's rich and lengthy forty years and counting mission of seeking out new civilizations and exploring the galaxy

Ships of the Line - Star Trek was both a pleasure to look through as well as a disappointment. It was beautiful because it contained gorgeous artist-rendered shots of the various Enterprise starships as well as the Defiant and Voyager.

This book contains illustrations of the ships in ways that have never seen before in the shows, so it was a real treat to see

the ships in the new angles and in situations.

The rendered shots are really quite richly detailed and gorgeous.

My disappointment stems from the fact that this book was supposed to contain more than the Enterprises and the Defiant and Voyager.

The book was also supposed to show other starships as well as other alien vessels.

The book did do this to a limited extent,

      • emphasis on the word limited, and neglected to cover a lot of the unique and different ships that have appeared over the forty plus years of Star Trek.

The majority of the book simply focused on the aforementioned ships.

I much would have preferred more focus on some of the alien vessels, like the Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians and Borg even if it meant giving up

        some pages on the Enterprises.

I feel that this book definitely did deliver on some incredible artwork renderings, but I also feel that this book missed out on delivering what could have been a gorgeous visual guide to the ships that have appeared throughout Star Trek’s rich and lengthy forty years and counting mission of seeking out new civilizations and exploring the galaxy.

        A real shame.
