  • There were multiple “bugs” in the system that created poor game play such as spotty fielding on routine pop-ups, impossible to steal bases and bizarre stats such as a random player leading the league in strikeouts in the year “216.” I love baseball and I really wanted this game to succeed for the simple reason that I wanted to continue playing it but it came to the point where it became unplayable and the fun was replaced with frustration
  • I have since traded the game in for another and do not recommend anyone buy this game, no matter how badly you love baseball

MLB 2K9 is a baseball game to the Xbox 360 video game system. It is the latest in a series of baseball games released yearly by the company as the coming season is getting ready to commence.

The game has all of the basic features anyone would expect from a baseball oriented video game.

You can play a single game against a friend or the CPU.

      You

can start a “Franchise” and take the reigns of a baseball team of your choice and play an entire season (or beyond if you choose to continue onto multiple seasons).

In the franchise you control various aspects of the team including pitching rotations, starting line-ups, player acquisitions, and even the minor league affiliates of the major league team.

One very appealing feature that the game has is what they call “live updates” where, if you access to the internet with your Xbox 360, you can download the most up-to-date rosters that 2ksports has to offer.

However tantalizing this feature might be, it fails to deliver the potential as rosters are rarely updated.

This is just one of many flaws inundated in this game, which I really tried to enjoy.

The last straw was when I began my second season and the game froze before the first game could be played.

After restarting the Xbox 360 the same thing happened and all of my progress was for nothing.

I have since traded the game in for another and do not recommend anyone buy this game, no matter how badly you love baseball.

if you are playing the mets home field is there any way to activate the apple when you hit a home run? I have played MLB the show and when you hit a mets home run the apple pops up. I was wondering if it did it on this game.

No, the apple doesn’t pop up on this game. That is why The Show is superior.
