Jeremiah: To Sail Beyond the Stars has a more magical quality about it than any of the other episodes thus far in the series. In fact, I’d even call it poetic. When Claire (Missy Crider) talks about sailing beyond the horizon to see what is out there, it’s very alluring. There’s adventure, desire, curiosity, and even peace to her words. I was

really drawn in by Claire in the scene where she talks about this with Jeremiah, as played by Luke Perry.

Following the action isn’t always easy, but they do try to string it all together. In the beginning of To Sail Beyond the Stars, Jeremiah and Kurdy (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) are talking about getting involved in the problems and lives of others. When Jeremiah walks ...

      • past a pregnant woman asking for help, Kurdy is in disbelief and ends up trying to help her himself.

At the end of the show, the two friends return to this topic, both saying they aren’t going to do it again (getting involved) and yet you know they will.

I liked the Claire character a lot. She was different from the others they’ve done so far.

She had a dream, one given to her by her father, and she was fighting to make that dream come true. Some might call her a little flighty, but the poetic air of her character is there for all to see.

The ending of the show was great. It makes you wish you were going with Claire, setting out to find out what’s out there.
