Buddy shows, that is shows that focus chiefly on two friends working together, are at their best when they focus on the buddies together. Sadly, and usually due to ego and agents, shows ultimately happen that split the team up. One goes one way, and the other goes another. Either a show focuses solely on one

week and on the other another week, or they are simply split up in the episodes, which suddenly develop equal sub-plots. This is what happens with Jeremiah: Moon in Gemini.

They also cut corners with the outdoor sequences, using blue screen for showing Erin and Jeremiah traveling to and from their destination.

Kurdy (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) takes off with ...

      • Elizabeth (Kandyse McClure) to try and work an alliance in what could be a racially sensitive area, while Jeremiah (Luke Perry) helps Erin (Ingrid Kavelaars) deal with her sister. The interesting part of this story is that Erin’s sister, Lauren, is played by Ingrid’s real-life twin sister, Monique.

Both stories play out okay, but neither on its own

is all that compelling. Jeremiah has another twist, this time with Monique, which happens the day after he’d kissed Erin. The kicker is that by the end of the show, he’s not really sure which sister he slept with.

So, not all that fun, but with a few moments here and there: that’s how I’d describe Moon in Gemini.
