That Girl: Rattle of a Single Girl is Ann Marie’s version of cold feet, a situation that fiance, Don Hollinger, succumbs to in a later story. She begins to think that they aren’t ready for marriage, so when someone suggests counseling, she insists that they go.

Of course, counseling results in Ann (Marlo Thomas)

and Don (Ted Bessell) actually fighting more than they ever did. The counselor, Dr. Globe, is played by Alan Oppenheimer. He ends up recommending that they don’t get married because in their session, neither admits to being annoying by anything that the other does.

One of the things I enjoyed in That Girl: ...

      • Rattle of a Single Girl is when Lou Marie, Ann’s father, shows up and recommends that Ann ignore the counseling. This is part of the turn or transition for Lou in this final season of That Girl. While he still has his bark where Don is concerned, he supports the relationship, even
when he could take advantage and try to break it up. I love how they show that in scenes like the one he has with Ann here.

The final scene of the show continues on in that vein. It’s really fun and cute and is very much like a family scene. It’s quite enjoyable.

    • Don't Be Nice. Be Helpful.
