  • A positive thing that I was happy to see in this episode from the fifth season is that Bernie Kopell, who plays Jerry Bauman, is thankfully back to normal in his appearance
  • One of the things I enjoyed about this show is the scene when Ann's father, Lou Marie (Lew Parker), first sees the magazine in the barber shop

The plot surrounding That Girl: I Ain’t Got Nobody is that Ann’s picture is inexplicably in a major girlie magazine, creating chaos for everyone who knows her and interfering with her attempt to be cast on a children’s show with a character called Captain Gooney (Kenneth Mars).

to see in this episode from the fifth season is that Bernie Kopell, who plays Jerry Bauman, is thankfully back to normal in his appearance. The gigantic sideburns are gone, as is the mustache.

      • first sees the magazine in the barber shop. It’s a hoot.

The DVD provides commentary for this episode and I had to laugh at something that the producer and Marlo Thomas talked about which is how things have changed. Ann and Don never had sex on That Girl. Everything was very

above board in their relationship right up through the wedding, so they both were laughing that it was obvious from Don’s reaction to seeing the pinup that Don didn’t know that wasn’t Ann’s body in the picture because he’d never seen it. I love the innocence of yesterday.

        This is a good episode.
