In this farce, Kate Hudson plays a hospice worker in New Orleans who gets all caught up in Hoodoo. No, not Voodoo.

Hoodoo is a religion that only works if you believe in

      it.

(Huh?) At any rate, I really thought this movie had the potential to be pretty frightening.

I often like movies that revolve around ancient religious practices, especially Voodoo — (or even Hoodoo).

      But this film was laughable.

      All ...

      • the scary parts are seen in the trailer.

And by the time you see the film, the context surrounding the scary parts is so watered down, that even the scary parts are not scary anymore.

        It was really disappointing.

        The

climax of the film took forever.

And by the time that arrived, the effects were so hokey that it took away any zeal left that the movie had.

If you’re really in the mood to see a “voodoo” film-rent Serpent of the Rainbow instead.
