There’s a small problem with the continuity of That Girl: Fly by Night in terms of Ann flying. She acts petrified from the beginning, but she’s been on planes to California at least twice and to Las Vegas, which was just this season. She also went up in a jet, flying all over the country in one

episode. Thus, her fear of flying just doesn’t quite make sense.

Flying is the theme of this show. Ann and Don are supposed to join Ann’s parents at their cabin in Vermont. Don had to work late, though, and is tired. It’s a ten-hour drive, so he wants them to fly. This is what sets Ann’s ...

      • paranoia about flying off.

Russell Johnson, better known as the Professor from Gilligan’s Island, appears in this episode as Jon, one of Don’s friends who owns a small plane and agrees to fly them to Vermont. Most of the time, he sits in the pilot seat with this funny face. I don’t know how to describe it. I

guess it was Johnson trying to look serious. He’s a better actor than what is seen here.

One of the fun things about Fly by Night is that Ann has a lot of flashbacks about past events. It’s a bit of a clips show in that respect. Several scenes are replayed from earlier years.

Overall, this is a good show.
