In M*A*S*H: Post Op, the 4077th unit is deluged with casualties. It’s not unusual really, but it reaches a critical point when they run out of blood. This means that each of the personnel has to donate blood every 48 hours. It actually gets so bad that

Colonel Sherman Potter (Harry Morgan) has to decrease that 48 hour limit.

There is one hold out in giving blood, and that’s the fanatical Major Frank Burns (Larry Linville). He avoids donating his blood until Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda) and B.J. Hunnicutt (Mike Farrell) force him to participate. Still,

      • Frank doesn’t go quietly at all.

Hilly Hicks guest stars in what I believe is his second appearance on this terrific comedy series. This time around he plays Corporal Moody. I get a kick out of Hicks. He’s an emotional actor with great facial expressions.

        Also putting in a

scene or two are Andy Romano and Sal Viscuso. Viscuso guest stars in several episodes of this show, always as a different character.

Overall, M*A*S*H: Post Op is an okay show. There’s nothing that really pops out and screams ‘watch me’, but it’s a decent half-hour entry for this successful series.
