As a student at Kaplan University, I have a very birds-eye view. Some people claim that Kaplan University is a scam, others have only good things to say about Kaplan. Here is the run down of the different areas of Kaplan.
Everyone’s first concern is usually money. Kaplan University is not exactly a discount school. People make a mistake is assuming that schools online should be inexpensive. Quite the contrary, you are paying for education in the comfort and convenience of your own home. I do agree that if you are trying to get a less expensive education you should try to look at all of the schools and compare the price tag.
Kaplan is an accredited University. Your grades and credits will transfer from Kaplan to another, so if you are stuck doing school at home for a little while and you decide to go to a brick
and mortar school when your time frees up; by all means transfer those credits. However if you stick with Kaplan, you will still get your degree. It just might cost a bit more than your average tech college. I personally think it is expensive, but at the time I joined the college I had no other option. It is a great option when you are stuck at home and desperate for a degree in this economy.
Aside from cost issues, the teachers at Kaplan are great. They are very friendly, informative and welcoming to their students. Every class is a joy to be in and you can make online friends very easily. I personally learned a lot from my courses so far at Kaplan University.
