Since I watched their film, Jack and the Beanstalk, I have been wanting to once again watch Abbott and Costello movies. So, I started watching one I haven’t seen before (except for the ending), Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy.

The movie was OK but not as funny as some of

      their other films.

For one, the title is very misleading.

There is a mummy in it but he has a pretty short role limited to a couple scenes.

Most of the movie is them contending with a woman in search of the mummy’s treasure who takes them hostage.

      The jokes are ...

      • also somewhat predictable because they have done them so many times before.

You have the same basic scene where Costello is left alone in a house, sees something (this time around, it was a dead body) and it is gone by the time Abbott comes in to see it (because Costello

        is always leaving the room).

There are some pretty funny moments though, including the scene where they keep trying to pass the “cursed” amulet back and forth to each other.

And, overall, it is somewhat entertaining.

You just have to be a big fan of this comedy team to really appreciate what they are trying to do.
