Mysore Palace is an architectural extravaganza in all angles. Spread around a vast area of around hundred acres. Mysore Palace is a true palace in all its meaning. It is truly a grand palace in south India.

The structure itself is an elegant structure. All its interior antiques add to the beauty. There are stones, shining tiles, exquisite marbles and granite.

Like Taj Mahal and other favorite structures Mysore Palace is also unforgettable experience for me. The sights inside the

palace are so numerous that I could not see all the things in one visit. On the first glance itself this palace gave me the impression of a standout structure.

It has all the visuals you see in a palace; crowns, thrones, grand rooms and royal hallways. There are special durbar areas where the emperor or in vernacular called as Maharaja used to meet with the ministers. They are at the same time visually wonderful and historically significant.

      Right from the entry ...

      • gate Mysore Palace it was delight to watch. The bronze tiger at the gate itself is a wonderful structure. Mysore Place is around three to four hours from Bangalore Airport.

Absolutely no footwear is allowed inside the palace. Also you cannot take photographs inside the Palace. However you can buy the photographs of the palace from vendors outside the Palace.

You can also get guides there for around two hundred rupees. Also there is a nominal entry fee to enter the Palace.

/> There are also camel ride and elephant rides available for affordable prices.

During festival seasons there are special events that are hosted here. This normally comes in September or October of year. On Sunday evenings and festival holidays the Palace gets illuminated with small lights and is an absolute delight to watch.

Whenever you are in Mysore, the Mysore Maharaja’s Palace is such a magnificent structure that no one can just afford to miss it. Mysore Palace stays there as the ever living icon of royal wealth.

I agree. It is well maintained and there is a free audio tour that one can download and understand the different structures of the palace without a human guide.

The Mysore Palace is the major attraction of Mysore which is also known as City of Palaces. The Mysore Palace is a beautiful delight to sore eyes as the detailed carving and hand sculpting that has gone into its creation. The Palace is colourful and highly maintained such that it serves a very photographic location. One cannot use dedicated cameras such as DSLRs or even Polaroid Cameras inside the Palace, but mobile photography is permitted and not penalized. It is also a place that is historically significant. Its history can be read on the internet before visiting the palace, if you are not willing to pay for a guide because that?s what my friends and I did. If one means to visit other places arounf the Mysore Palace in Mysore do check if the city is open during that day because we went on a Tuesday and all the shops and places in the city were shut.

Yes It is a well maintained structure and there is history spilled over in almost all the corners of the building.

One can also download an app through the free Wi-Fi available there and make use of the audio tour to get to know interesting bits of information about the palace.

I had the exact same kind of experience while I was at Mysore Palace. Really reminiscent of the Taj Mahal.
