Gameplay 8/10 Suikoden 2 is an RPG game for the playstation 1 that involves the player to find 108 characters to build an army as well as a castle and choose whatever character he pleases to use in the game. Enemies are fought through random encounters by five characters that you want to bring along since there is a default character which is the hero. The battle is done through turn per turn and the endless formations you can do with the characters makes the game exciting to play. There are also many mini sidequests like the Cooking Show in the middle of the game which I personally liked because it didnt make the game boring compared to your ordinary RPG

      games.

Story 10/10 The story is set after the first installment of the game. Even though you haven’t played the first game you can still enjoy the plot since the story has a lot to offer because of the twists and turns. The game starts with two soldiers engaged in the middle of the war and being betrayed by their own countrymen. From there the story just gets better and better in my opinion. The dialogue and the way the characters interact sometimes can be hilarious. There was this scene where Flik was chased by an obssessed girl named Nina and seeing how it unfold was funny. Of course not to take away from the game are serious parts wherein the hero’s ...

      • sister was strucked by arrows and you couldn’t help but feel sorry for the character and somehow this game gets to your emotional side.

Graphics 7/10 The graphics of this game is set in simple 2d form but in a good way. Real gamers can get over this because even through 2d sprites the message being brought to emotion by the characters can be seen just by simple “water drops” in the head, sudden jumping, simple clashing of swords, bodies going down after being struck by a slash, etc. For me this is just a minor flaw if you really like stunning graphics.

Music 9.5/10 So many instrumentals and songs that are memorable in this game. Any music that is set fits the

atmosphere of what is happening in the moment. I fell in love with this soundtrack because even up to now if you here the melodies in this game you can remember the scenes and the interaction of the characters.

Replayability 7/10 For people who want to play the game once then replaying it might be tedious because this is a long game. But there are so many to be missed if you played it just once. Character collection, Equipment and items collection, Mini games completion and the story itself will make experienced gamers give it another try.

All in all I think this game is classic and a gem in itself. It goes down for me as one of the best games ever made. Play it and see for yourself. =D
