Twilight by Stephanie Meyer is one of the most popular books for teens. It is a romance novel that includes vampires and werewolves; sounds pretty exciting, huh? When I first read Twilight, I thought the beginning was extremely dull.

Nothing seemed to happen for the first half of the story.

The main character, Bella, moved to

Forks, Seattle, and she started a new school.

Her lab partner in biology, Edward, was very hostile to her on Bella’s first day, and then he disappeared for a week.

Bella later discovered that he was a vampire, and so were all of his family members.

She also started to love him after a while.

This is when a group of vampires enter Forks.

One of them, James, wants to kill Bella because he saw how protective Edward was of her, and he loved the chase.

        Twilight is a nice book

to read if you just want to sit down with a good romance novel.

However, this book always screams of “gushy” whenever I read it.

I think the characters are a bit stiff.

Edward is too serious and protective, and Bella comes off as selfish.

The writing could have been better, but this is a decent book.
