Cooper Wilkes’s life had changed when his parents sent him for a vacation to his grandparents in Montana. Cooper who loved New York City found himself belonging in the serene life of his grandparents’ ranch. It was also here where he met his childhood best friend and later his lover Lil Chance.

Lil Chance loved Cooper and when he broke things off with her, she was devastated. She tried to fill her life with fieldwork as a

      wildlife and ecology specialist.

She also established a wildlife sanctuary in her homeland. When she returned from her recent fieldwork from Peru, she was surprised to learn that Cooper had also returned to Montana and appeared to be staying for good.

Old feelings came back but Lil tried to ignore them because she didn’t want to get hurt the second time around. When Lil was subjected to an unknown threat, Cooper decided that he would do his ...

      • best to protect Lil and win her back.

Animal and tourist killing suddenly happened and every incident was aimed against Lil. Lil was confused why the serial killer would want her.

Cooper knew that they were against a dangerous murderer who had been killing people for a span of 20 years. Now Cooper realized that it was only a matter of time when the murderer would kidnap Lil and also kill her and he was making sure

that that wouldn’t happen because Lil had always been the love of his life.

The story was a bit similar with Nora Roberts’ previous novels. The romance between Lil and Cooper was not unique and without much depth.

The ending was also abrupt and the climax was without a bang. Being a big Nora Roberts fan, this book was a disappointment because there’s not much new in her writing style and the story was just the same old story.
