  • Of course, there are no claims of weight that will be magically shed from drinking this product, which I was happy about, as that is simply a claim any product should just not make

I am not a fan of diet supplements or even products which claim to suppress hunger. I find that eating less and exercising more is about as simple and effective a way to control weight that there is. I had recently been injured, and without being able to exercise, and needing to get into a bikini, I went looking for something to help kick start my intention to lose a few pounds. I saw an advertisement for Crystal Light Hunger Satisfaction, a drink mix to add to water, and decided to read the package to see if

this might be a good idea.

I have never tried any of the Crystal Light products, which include energy and vitamin mixes that you add to water. This mix, which is only available in one flavour of strawberry banana, costs $13.99 for a package containing 12 small packages of the mix. The ingredients list the mix at containing 30 calories, 5 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein, which sound pretty good to me. How it works, the packaging claims, is that the combination of the fiber and the protein helps make you feel full. Of course, there are no claims of weight that will be magically shed from drinking this product, which I was happy about, as that is simply a claim any product should just not make.

The next day, I started adding the mix to my afternoon water, and it tasted really good. I am also not a fan of flavoured water usually, as I do not mind the taste of just plain old water, but this really did make my water a bit of a treat, and a nice change. And, miraculously, I did not get my late afternoon hunger.

I actually had not deliberately planned to drink this before my ‘problem’ time, when I am likely to snack on junk food, but it did seem to fill me up until dinner. The next day, and the day after, I mixed the Crystal Light into my afternoon water, and I had the same result. After a week, I had trained my stomach to be less empty-feeling in the afternoons, and I had lost almost 3 pounds. I did recover from my injury, and was able to workout again, so I saved the remaining few packages for future
use, but even though I do occasionally snack in the afternoon, this product helped me lose a couple pounds when I couldn’t workout. Now, I would not suggest this as a weight loss plan for anyone who has more than a couple pounds to lose; this is not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle. However, for those times when you want to avoid snacking and fill up your stomach, Crystal Light Hunger Satisfaction really works. I hope they come out with some new flavours in the future, but that is the only downside that I can find for this item.
