Ann Marie takes issue with the fact that her boyfriend, Don Hollinger, returns from a hunting trip with a beard and refuses to shave it off. When Ann’s father shows up, she ends up defending Don’s right to grow the beard, though she’s still not happy about it.

      Then Don begins to

go a bit beard-happy, imagining that he’s getting all kinds of favor and attention because of his beard. It’s a bit overdone, which is how the part is supposed to be played.

The couple ends up fighting, and we get some scenes where they are a bit distant and polite with each ...

      • other. It’s still more Don going overboard with trying to look like the image of the writer. At the same time, it’s Ann figuring out that she doesn’t really have a right to demand that Don shave it off, either.

Ruth Buzzi is back in this episode as Ann’s friend, Pete.

She’s offering Ann advice on how to handle the situation.

I thought the waitress was very cute. Her name was Jackie Miller, but I couldn’t find that she’d done anything else really.

The best scene is when Ann gets her revenge and also makes her point. It’s absolutely ideal and lots of fun to watch.
