I really tried to like this movie. Usually when a film is made in a foreign country like Ireland, the acting is typically good. But this time, an American family decided to go trekking through Ireland in search of their ancestral roots.

First of all, I find the premise extremely grandiose. And secondly, the

family hardly acted like a family at all.

The fighting between sisters was overdone and filled with unnecessary profanity. The husband and wife (she’s stepmom) seem to have no chemistry at all.

And quite frankly, all them seem to be the same age. It’s weird.

At any rate, they miss their ...

      • last bus (big surprise) and get stranded in the countryside. It gets dark; they start searching for shelter—in the woods…and are soon picked off one by one by some strange looking ghostly kids.

The movie definitely had some frightening elements. And the ending (although somewhat predictable) was slightly chilling.

        But I was left

wanting more. Not so much another resolution—just more of an explanation about the children’s condition and why they acted the way they did.

This is a better horror movie that the last three I’ve seen at the movies—but that isn’t really saying much, considering the caliber of films that are making their way to theaters these days.
