Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Australia
  • This is the only part of the park that needs improving I think
  • If I had to pick one park to go to on a holiday to the Gold Coast I would DEFINITELY pick Dreamworld

The Gold Coast in Australia is the Australian equivalent of Florida-fabulous weather and beaches and of course, theme parks. Dreamworld is one of the main theme parks at the Gold Coast and in my opinion the best for all the family. Firstly it is HUGE. Pretty much impossible to do everything in one day, and secondly it caters to all the family.

It has the perfect combination of white knuckle and toddler rides so that there is a full day for everyone, whatever their age. Firstly it has Nickelodeon World which is great for kids up to about 9 with Dora, Blues Clues, etc rides that are suitable for kids of all ages. There is even a kids coaster.

There is also a fantastic ball

room that is half full of tiny kids and half full of grown men all firing balls at each other!

Even this tiny part of the park has numerous rides ans is nearly as big as some of the other parks. You could easily spend half your day just here. There is also the new Wiggles world.

I am not a great fan of this part of the park, however my kids love it. It is aimed at toddlers so there is only one real ride there-the big red car ride, but the other bits are a pirate ship, and a tiny toddler play area. This is the only part of the park that needs improving I think.

Every now and then the Wiggles turn ...

      • up here though- crowds on those days!

There is also a water park area in the park, with slides, chutes etc and a swimming lagoon. (they are also building a new water park next to it, also run by Dreamworld) There is an animal petting farm, a huge train that goes right around the park, there is a log flume, white water rapids, a whole other area full of adult rides such as wipeout. There are various large rollercoasters, a surf simulator and the most enormous drop ride I have ever seen.

This ride is really world class. The drop tower also has another coaster type ride that shoots you along and up the side, and then lets you drop back down. All in all whatever

your age there is literally too much to do in a day.

I reckon if you wanted to ride all the rides it would take about 3 days. The big brother house is also in the park and you can often pick up tickets for the eviction show when you are here. There are also great stores everywhere, full of various merchandise and pretty good food options too although not that cheap.

If you are a qld resident or northern NSW you can usually get cheap deals on entry. If I had to pick one park to go to on a holiday to the Gold Coast I would DEFINITELY pick Dreamworld. I live an hour away so we go to them all a lot and Dreamworld is way better than all the others.
