  • I cannot say it is a very good book from the academic point of view, but it is definitely a good book for those who want a brief study of ancient Egyptian history

      ‘Egypt and the Egyptians’ is a book written by Douglas J. Brewer. This book is all about ancient Egypt and it covers a lot of things of ancient Egypt. This is an interesting book and it is written in a style that is captivating. The author writes the history of this nation which is very interesting. Ancient Egypt was a

      rich and prosperous civilization. It has also several things which baffles even today’s modern world.

      The author also writes about the cities of Egypt which were well-planned. The roads were good and all other systems were excellent. Another important thing is the art and architecture of ancient Egypt which was remarkable. The ancient art of Egypt baffles description. The most important example could be the pyramids which is really a wonder and we could say that the pyramids are the most wonderful specimens of architecture in the entire world.

      The author also writes about the ancient Egyptian religion. Egyptians believed in a variety of gods and goddesses, almost all of whom represented one or the other force of nature. Egypt also ...


      • Egypt and the Egyptians by Douglas J. Brewer book
      had a concept of monotheism in spite of their many gods and goddesses. This concept says that God is only one, in spite of his many different forms.

      The author also writes about the social conditions, marriage etc.. I could not find this part very interesting. However, it is of benefit to those who wish to make a study of it.

      The

      book is written in a simple style, very easy for anybody to understand. I cannot say it is a very good book from the academic point of view, but it is definitely a good book for those who want a brief study of ancient Egyptian history. Overall, I liked this book very much and will rate it 9 out of 10 points.
