  • I think it is supposed to be based off of a novel by a similar name, but since I have not read the novel myself, I am unable to tell as to how close to the book the movie was
  • I would not recommend this movie to those who like historical films as I'm not even sure how historically accurate the film was

“Dangerous Liasons” is the name of a 1988 movie starring quite a few A-list celebrities such as Michelle Pfeifer, Uma Thurman, Keanu Reeves and Glen Close. It was the oldest movie I remember seeing the actress Uma Thurman in as previously, the only movies I rememebr seeing her in were ones from the early nineties. I

think it is supposed to be based off of a novel by a similar name, but since I have not read the novel myself, I am unable to tell as to how close to the book the movie was.

The movie is a bit like an eighteenth century version of a soap opera as it is set ...

      • in the eighteenth century and is full of sex, lies, revenge, characters manipulating each other to get what they want, love and death. Thus I think the audience who like soap operas might just like this movie because it seems everything and everyone is woven into a tangled web. The movie is about the chaos that
follows after a woman, the Marquise de Merteuil tries to persuade the Vicomte de Valmont to seduce a woman she dislikes.

I would not recommend this movie to those who like historical films as I’m not even sure how historically accurate the film was. I also know that the film was based on a fictional story.
