It is a known fact that sometimes a sequel falls short of the original movie and the fans are left disappointed. This is not the case with this movie.

The movie opened up with lots of action in the first 10 minutes and it was at first confusing why there were a few unidentifiable robots. However, you will overlook that fact in favour of the action sequence that would follow and will be then informed that it has been two (2) years since Megatron was defeated and a LOT has happened.

Then the movie explores the adventures

of Sam as he tackles his first year of college. Shia LaBeouf was both funny and endearing in his portrayal of Sam and the mom was the funniest of all. I can actually see in her my parents when I left for college. Megan Fox’s character on the other hand, was changed a bit and she became more girly rather than the hard core girl we saw in the first movie. Maybe they thought she ought to be more feminine to attract more guy attention, not that she needed any help with that because she ...

      • still looked hot just standing.

Halfway through, we discover the unexpected history of the Autobots and the Decepticons and the fact that they can be revived after “death.” The part where the “robot heaven” appeared was the only drawback in the movie for me because it was a bit absurd the robot elders speaking about the Matrix of Leadership being earned and not taken was unnecessary because it was taken later on.

The effects were fantastic. The scenes were so realistic due to the amazing job the animators did with the CGI. The part where Sam was

being chased in the forest and defended by the Autobots was astounding and I couldn’t keep my eyes off the screen. The fighting in the dirt was very realistic. The last scenes were also great and the audience will experience déjà vu when they witness the battle in the desert.

All in all, the movie is worth watching. The guys are suitable eye candy and the plot seamlessly flows from one to the other. Take your best bud or your sibling, someone with whom you watched the transformers cartoons, and enjoy the two and a half hour experience.
