I have seen all of the National Lampoon Vacation movies. Christmas vacation is easily the worst of the four but I think European Vacation is one of those movies that isn’t as good as the first “Family Vacation” or the last, “Vegas Vacation.

” That’s not to say it is a

      terrible movie or anything.

      Far from it.

It just doesn’t quite live up to the standards set by the movie that started it all.

This one has Chevy Chase and family traveling across Europe and causing a ruckus there; ranging from causing a riot in Germany to destroying stonehenge.

      If ...

      • you do watch this movie, I recommend getting it on DVD rather than watching it on TV.

The television version cuts out too many scenes and you won’t get the full effect of what the writers were trying to do.

Of course, I should warn you, there is partial nudity

and quite a bit of swearing in the DVD version so it’s not going to be suitable for everyone in your family.

The movie is worth watching at least one time if you haven’t seen it before and, again, I didn’t hate it.

Just don’t expect as many laughs from it as the original.
